The Goethe-Institut accompanies a new edition of Talents Buenos Aires, a meeting of young professionals in the South American film industry organized annually by the Universidad del Cine.
“The Year of Discovery”, in homage to the film by Spanish filmmaker Luis López Carrasco, is the title of this 17th edition, which will be online from April 19 to 23 and has 54 participants selected from among more than 1,000 applicants from all over South America.
On Thursday 21, Darío Aguirre, director of the documentaries Five Ways to Darío (2010), El grill de César (2013) and En el país de mis hijos (2018), will participate from Germany. Aguirre, who was born in Ecuador and has lived in Germany since 1999, will dialogue with the young professionals on the central themes of his films, such as the issue of interculturality, territory and migration.
On Saturday 23rd Alejo Moguillansky and Luciana Acuña will present their new film La edad media as a case study and discuss its world premiere at the recent Berlinale.
